Unravel | Entangle: Not-So-Curated Conversations about CollapseTuesday Evenings/6:30-7:45pm MT
Join us for intimate conversations about inhabiting these times of profound change, loss, and possibility together. Every Tuesday evening, we’ll create a communal container where uncertainty is welcomed, relationships are centered, and the mess of collapse becomes our teacher.
Through conversation, imagination, and embodied practice, we’ll gather around questions like: What if we welcomed both the unpredictable and unimaginable? What is the underculture we want to root in during this time of the Long Dark? What opens up when we shift from problem-solving to mutual learning in the face of polycrisis?
Hosted by Holly Truhlar and Emily “Rhae” Swanson, these conversations will celebrate neuroqueerness, ecological entanglement, and soul while holding space for the confusion, grief, and tenderness of these times. We draw inspiration from thinkers, feelers, and projects like Octavia Butler, Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, Alexis Pauline Gumbs, Nora Bateson, Francis Weller, the Telepathy Tapes, and the beyond-human-beings who remind us that in times of collapse we’re called to practice belonging with the unfamiliar.
If this stirs something in you, we’d love to have you join us in this experiment. For more information: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/unravel-entangle-not-so-curated-conversations-about-collapse-tickets-1213800292349?aff=oddtdtcreator

Love during the Long Dark: A 2-hour Gathering Around Grief & LoveThursday, February 20th at the Lyons Library/6:00 - 8:00pm MST
For our second annual love & grief gathering, we’ll be exploring the Long Dark—this time of profound collective unraveling that calls us to become more intimate with both loss and love. Together we’ll explore the nature of the Long Dark and what it asks of us, engage in poetry and writing practices, discover how grief and love shape one another, and join in a communal micro-ritual with sculpting and song.
During this gathering, we’ll touch on Francis Weller’s gates of grief, including personal losses and the sorrows of the world, revealing how they can become medicine for the Long Dark. Come be part of this soulful space where we’ll hold both the heartbreak and beauty of these times.

Grief Ritual Training for the Climate Aware with Francis WellerMarch 22 - June 14, 2025/Online
From all observable indicators, the season ahead will be challenging. We have entered what could be called The Long Dark—a time of endings, decay, and dissolution. This prolonged season, spanning a generation or two, will bring tremendous challenges for the earth community. The cumulative losses will touch everything and everyone, and grief will be the keynote for the foreseeable future.
After many years of offering grief rituals, it has become clear that there is an urgent need to share this work with others. The requests are too many, and the need too pressing. It is essential that we generate a robust community of skilled grief tenders. We invite you to come learn with us.
The Centre for Climate Psychology will be offering a 3-month online Grief Ritual Training for the Climate Aware. We’ll be hosting a hybrid of live and pre-recorded sessions co-facilitated by Francis Weller, Steffi Bednarek, and Holly Truhlar.

Soulful Life ConviviumApplications Re-Open in April 2025/Wednesdays, 1:30-3:00pm MT
This is an opportunity to work the rich loam of soul on an ongoing basis in a community of practice and care. We draw upon a wealth of materials, including work our advisor, Francis Weller, has presented over the years. Over the past four years, in our network and live Convivium calls we’ve built a rich and deep communal web with connections all over the world. It’s a true house of belonging that’s soulful and sacred, a unique experience that’s co-held with compassion and reciprocity.
Each season we explore a theme through weekly zoom calls with our facilitation team, these include embodiment and creative practices, teaching, ritual, inquiry, and conversation. We also offer weekly practice prompts, select writings, and poetry in the Mighty Network.

Enter the Healing Ground: 3-day Grief RitualFriday, June 27 - Sunday, June 29, 2025/Evergreen, Colorado
Jessi Rado, BJ “Yam” Dwyer, and Holly Truhlar will be co-facilitating this 3-day grief ritual in Evergreen, Colorado. Our grief is meant to be shared and witnessed in village. In our time together, we’ll create a sudden village and warm our grief through writing, movement, song, and embodiment practices. Once the space is potentiated, we’ll deepen into ritual space as our grief is expressed at the altar and held by the village.

TENDERS: A 5-day hide tanning, grief tending retreatTuesday, July 15 - Saturday, July 19, 2025/Evergreen, Colorado
Held by the beauty of Colorado’s mountains, fifteen grief tenders will gather for five transformative days of deep remembering and fortification. TENDERS is an intimate retreat and ritual for those called to work with grief in their communities. We’ll immerse ourselves in the ancient craft of hide tanning, working the hides while also working with our personal and collective griefs. We’ll be exploring what it means to both be held and to hold others.
Through ritual and shared inquiry, we’ll discover what needs to be witnessed and what needs to soften for us to show up fully for The Long Dark. Together, we’ll craft vessels from the hides we tan, each one infused with our unique medicine. These leather pouches become more than craft—they are holders of our gifts as grief tenders, fortified through ritual to carry back to our communities. This is a convergence of the wild and the sacred, where ancestral wisdom meets present calling.
In addition to the 5-day retreat, we’re building a 6-month communal container. We’ll be hosting four 90-minute pre-retreat zoom sessions and two post-retreat zoom sessions for preparation and integration. This offering will be co-facilitated by Marissa Sieck of Riverine Hart Hide Tanning and Holly Truhlar.
